Public Participation at Board Meetings
of the Greenville City Board of Education, as well as Board-appointed committee
meetings, will be open to the public.
who wishes to have a matter placed on the Board of Education meeting agenda may
submit a request in writing to the Superintendent of Schools, President of the
Board or Treasurer prior to the opening of the meeting. All requests shall state the identity of the
individual and the nature of the matter to be presented.
In order for
the Board to fulfill its obligation to complete the planned agenda in an
effective and efficient fashion, the Board may establish a maximum time period
for public participation. No person may
speak twice until all who desire to speak have had the opportunity to do so.
procedure will be the normal time allotted for public participation:
maximum of three minutes per individual
maximum of 30 minutes total duration
Note: The Board President may alter the above
procedure upon evaluation of the circumstances.
