May 29, 2015 - BOE Special Meeting Communication

The Greenville City School’s Board of Education met during a special meeting at the St. Clair Memorial Hall in the Anna Bier Civic Room on Friday, May 29, 2015.

Treasurer, Carla Surber presented the following items receiving the Board of Education approval:
• A transfer of $500,000.00 into the Fund 498, Special Cost Center 9310, from the Fund 001 General Fund to cover from encumbrances created from the Workforce Development Contracts.
• A contract with Garmann Miller Architects in the amount of $2,500.00 for design work of the Workforce Development Manufacturing lab at Greenville Senior High School, to be paid with workforce development funds through a grant with Wright State University from the State of Ohio.
• A contract with Brumbaugh Construction Inc. in the amount of $107,002.00 as a change order for improvement of the Workforce Development Manufacturing lab at Greenville Senior High School, to be paid with workforce development funds through a grant with Wright State University from the State of Ohio.
• A contract with Integrated Systems Technologies which operates as sole-source vendor for robotic equipment in the amount of $380,763.00 to be used in the Workforce Development Manufacturing lab at Greenville Senior High School, to be paid with workforce development funds through a grant with Wright State University from the State of Ohio. This is instructional equipment not subject to competitive bidding procedures.

Superintendent, Douglas Fries presented the following items receiving the Board of Education approval:
• Resignation of Justine Thieman, Science Teacher, Greenville Senior High School be accepted effective at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.
• Resignation of Alicia Marker, ½ time Reading Recovery Teacher, Woodland Primary School be accepted effective at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.
• Resignation of Lyndsay House, 5th Grade Teacher, South Middle School be accepted effective at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.
• Hired Stanley Hughes as the Career Technology Director/Coordinator of Technology & Virtual Academy under a 2 year administrative contract, $95,000.00 salary, 260 days.


The meeting was adjourned. The next regular board of education meeting will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the St. Clair Memorial Hall, Anna Bier Civic Room at 7:00 p.m.
