Inter-District Open Enrollment
Greenville City Schools permits the enrollment of students from any Ohio district in a school or program of this District, provided each enrollment is in accordance with laws and regulations of the State concerning Inter-District Open Enrollment, district policies and the guidelines provided below:

Selection Priority
Students from other districts who were accepted for inter-district open enrollment in the past school year and have a valid application submitted according to the district’s regulations will be given priority over the applications of new student inter-district open enrollment.
Other enrollment factors being equal, students who have a valid application submitted according to the district’s regulations will be accepted on the basis of the date of receipt of the application.
Eligibility
An approved open enrollment application only guarantees placement for the current school year. Students who participate in the open enrollment program in one year must re-apply annually if they wish to be considered for the following year.
The number of openings for students is determined annually by optimum size for a particular program, classroom/school building, or grade level which can be accommodated without increasing District expenditures for staff or equipment.
Open-enrollment applications from students who have an IEP shall be considered unless services required in an IEP are not available in the District. Greenville City Schools shall not discriminate against any disabled students (IDEA or 504). Greenville City Schools shall not be required to provide any services or adapt any facilities not already provided disabled, resident native students.
Transportation will be provided only within the district, following normal procedures, policies, and routes. Transportation from outside the district is the responsibility of the applicant’s parents or guardians, and district transportation changes will not occur as a result of open enrollment. Parents are expected to make sure their children arrive at school on time.
Applications from students from other Ohio districts may be rejected if the racial balance of the other Ohio district or this District's program, classroom, or school would be negatively impacted as defined in policy JECBB.
Applications from students from other Ohio districts may also be rejected if the student has been suspended or expelled for ten (10) consecutive days or more during the semester of application or the preceding semester. Student records, including discipline, will be requested from the resident district.
