Re: Final Concert Informational Reminder
Dear Parents,
I am writing you today with a final reminder regarding our first concert of the year. Below you will find the details necessary for us to have a successful evening on Monday, November 30, 2015. Place: Memorial Hall
Arrival Time: 6:45pm
Meeting Place: Junior High Band Room
In Seat: 6:50pm
Concert Begins: 7:00pm
What to Wear: Black pants, white shirts, black shoes. (Dark Brown, Grey, or Navy Blue will be acceptable but not khacki). Guys should wear a neck tie. Girls who choose to wear a skirt must ensure the skirt reaches the knee or below when seated. All students may wear festive apparel such as Santa hats or a Christmas tie for example. Students may also decorate their instrument!
Over Break: Students are expected to take instruments home over break and review our music. Students will need to have instruments back on Monday, Nov. 30th for a rehearsal at Memorial Hall during our band periods.
Practice Journals: Students received a band practice journal. This is due twice this quarter. Students are expected to do some practicing outside of the school day. The journal is to be used to record what is being practiced and how much time is spent practicing. The journal, similar to a reading journal, will be graded on being completed not on how many minutes are practiced. I want students to begin reflecting on what they need to improve upon, what needs practiced, and also on what they can do well. The journal is worth 16pts a quarter and requires a parent signature.
