= FEVER – If your child’s temperature is 100 degrees or greater, your child should remain home until they have been without a fever for a full 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications. Fever is a symptom indicating the presence of illness.

= VOMITING AND DIARRHEA (Intestinal viral infections) - Stomach ache, cramping, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea may be a symptom of a virus. The student may not necessarily have a fever with a virus, but is still contagious if he/she has vomited or had diarrhea. Student should stay home until student is without nausea, vomiting or diarrhea for a full 24 hours. If your child has any of these symptoms during the night, they should not come to school the next morning. They need to be home 24 hours from last episode of vomiting or diarrhea.

= LICE - Children may not come to school if they have lice or lice eggs (nits-old or new). Treat head lice and notify the school that your child has lice. The student needs to be checked by the clinic staff or other trained personnel before they can return to school. Please check all members of your family for lice and treat accordingly. Only 24 hours will be given for treatment of lice. If your child is not cleared after 24 hours, it is an unexcused absence.

= PINK EYE - Redness and swelling of the skin around and inside the eye with burning, itching, and matter (crusted or stringy) coming from one or both eyes. Student should remain home from school until they have been evaluated/treated by a physician and antibiotic therapy received for a full 24 hours before returning to school.

= OTHER COMMUNICABLE DISEASES - If you suspect any of the following contagious communicable diseases, Impetigo, Hand-Foot-Mouth, Scabies, MRSA, Ring Worm, please have your child evaluated by a health care provider. If they present to school with any symptoms of the above diseases, you will be contacted to have your child evaluated and will need documentation that student is not contagious.

= OTHER CONTAGIOUS INFECTIONS - If your child has been diagnosed with an infection, such as Strep throat, we ask that the student be on antibiotics 24 hours before returning to school.

= CHICKEN POX – It is a skin rash consisting small blisters, which leave scabs. A light fever may or may not be present. There may be blisters and scabs present at the same time. Your child should remain home until all blisters are scabbed over, usually 5-7 days after the appearance of the first crop of blisters.
